Dr. Joseph F. Rizzo III is the Simmons Lessell Professor of Ophthalmology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, the primary teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School’s Department of Ophthalmology.
As the Director of the Neuro-Ophthalmology Service, he sees patients with complex afferent and efferent disorders, and teaches 3 clinical fellows and multiple residents each year. In 2023 he received the prestigious HMS William Silen Lifetime Achievement in Mentoring Award.
Dr. Rizzo's research focuses on understanding the mechanisms of vision loss and developing new therapeutics for sight-threatening diseases. Dr. Rizzo believes neos™ has the potential to provide important diagnostic information on visual disorders, and is committed to exploring this potential.
