The global competition was launched by VSP Vision, the leader in delivering access to health-focused vision care and MATTER, the premier healthcare incubator and innovation hub, with the goal to explore solutions that enhance the patient experience in eye care. 

machineMD was one of five finalists that had be selected from the applicant pool that received expert mentorship and exclusive resources from the VSP network. The final showcase was held on August 15th in Chicago. machineMD was able to convince the judges of its case and received an excellent second place with its pitch for its first product neos™.  

 neos™ is a reusable medical device system available in the USA intended to present visual stimuli to both eyes individually, and measures the resulting eye movements and pupillary changes of each eye. The device, based on an industry-leading VR headset, performs an automated examination of eye movements and pupillary function, also including visual field screening. It’s a first step towards machineMD’s mission to radically improve the measurement of brain function, with a vision for a world where people receive an accurate, fast, and early diagnosis of brain disorders.
